How much does a website cost?
The age-old question! It completely depends on what you need, but you can rest assured we deliver the best possible value for money and it won’t break the bank. In general, our prices start at $250 for a 5 page website. Why not ask for a quote? There’s no obligation and we won’t sulk if you say ‘no’!2
How long does it take?
On average, websites launch within 7 to 10 business days from project start., but can vary depending on the project scope. If you are trying to meet a specific deadline, let us know and we can provide you with options.3
Are our design responsive (Mobie Friendly)?
Yes, we believe our mobile designs are some of the best you'll find anywhere. We put a high emphasis on making sure the website experience on a mobile device is second-to-none.4
We provide full ownership to your website design
We provide full ownership to your website design. Our websites are built on top of a Content Management System and can transfer to most web hosts. We want you to stay with us because you want to, not because you have to.5
Can you revise my current website or finish my incomplete website?
Typically, we cannot. Our process and tooling are specifically designed for the websites we build. However, if there are elements you want to retain from an existing website, it's often possible for us to recreate them in a new website.6
I already have a domain name. Can I use it?
Yes, we can port the domain to us and manage it on your behalf at no additional cost. If desired, you can choose to keep your existing domain registrar and direct it to the website we build.7
Will our website show up high in Google?
Our websites are designed to follow Google’s best practices and be relevant to your targeted audiences to help build greater connections.8
Will I be able to access my website statistics without contacting you?
Yes. We integrate Google Analytics into all sites and as part of that process can set up access for you to view the results any time you need on your own.9
What size companies do you work with?
We’re just as keen to work with individuals and small businesses as we are large ones, and as a local firm we’re ideally placed to understand the needs of growing organisations.10
Do you work internationally?
Of course! With the advent of online conference tools such as Zoom, appear.in, and of course Skype, just to name a few, it makes working with businesses anywhere in the world straight forward enough.11
Do you offer ongoing help with our new site once it's launched?
If you need our help with web support and maintenance, we’ll be here for you. If not, we will leave you to it. If you change your mind and need us after all, we’ll still be here for you!12
Do you set up my Facebook, twitter page etc?
Typically not. Social media is not a part of the web design process. However, we are always looking for ways to make your life easier. If you’d like us to do this for you, we can arrange a package that suits you.13
Can Netcom provide graphics that are relevant to my business?
Yes! Netcom can use a combination of stock photography and images/graphics that relate to your business or industry to help create a professional design for your website. We’re also happy to provide creative direction and contact information for some amazing photographers.14
What are your payment steps?
We require 50% of the project value at the time of starting the project. After the design is approved and the coding is complete, we’ll show the website from our server. Once the website is approved, you need to pay the balance 50% to enable us to transfer the website to your server. For projects with high value, we are happy to discuss and receive payments in 2 or more installments. Yes, we are here to sort it out. Let’s talk!1
What is Web Hosting?
Web hosting is the service of storing data that keeps websites up and running for users. Every single website that is online has a host server, and almost all use a web host to manage that storage.2
What is Shared Web hosting?
In Shared Web Hosting, multiple clients are hosted on a single server i.e. the clients share the server's resources. This helps reduce the cost, since the cost of the server and its resources are spread over all the clients/packages hosted on the server. Shared Hosting is perfect for personal websites, small and mid-sized businesses that do not require all the resources of a server3
Can I upgrade to a higher plan?
Yes, you can easily upgrade to one of our higher plans at any time4
How do I obtain a dedicated email account? (me@mywebsite.co.zw)
When you purchase an account with a web host, one of the services you receive is a certain number of dedicated email accounts for any domain hosted on that account.5
How do I back up my site?
You can – and should! – back up your website regularly. From the control panel, there should be a Backup function, and with one click, you can save all of your files,6
What are sub domains?
Subdomains are actually extensions of a website that are primarily used to separate and categorize web site content. The address of the subdomain appears before the main domain name. For example – subdomain.example.com. It does not cost money to add a subdomain to your web site, and many web hosting providers allow the use of unlimited subdomains.7
How do I transfer my Web pages to your server?
If you’ve built your website in a HTML editor, like Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression Studio, you have to upload your website files via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). We also have a built-in File Manager that you can access in CPanel, which is a web management portal we provide you with, which allows you to manage your hosting account.8
I purchased a hosting package. Now what?
You will receive a welcome e-mail with your login credentials. You can also access your account information through the Client Login here on our site.9
What is Web Hosting Bandwidth?
Bandwidth means of the amount of data that can be transferred from the web server at any given point in time. When you browse a website, it's actually downloading and uploading information from the web server with every page that is loaded. Sufficient bandwidth is very important to ensure your website can be viewed smoothly by your customer.10
What is DirectAdmin and why do I need it?
DirectAdmin is a control panel. It is a leading web management dashboard that lets users manage their hosting accounts with ease. It allows you to oversee and control email accounts, domain extensions, and install new applications if required, like WordPress, Magento, Joomla etc. It gives you control over and to manage your entire web hosting account.11
Do I require some specialised understanding of Shared Hosting?
No. In fact, we have exceptional customer support who can help you every step of the way should you need help or have question about your hosting service. We can help, from picking what is the best option for you, to researching issues you may have. Without a doubt having any amount of expertise is invaluable, however it's by no means, a necessity.12
What is a domain name
A domain name is a custom web address that each website must have to go on the internet like www.yoursite.com. This is what users type into the search engine to find your address online. No two domain names can be the same, which means if there’s a specific one that you need and it’s available it’s best that you register it now. There are many diverse types of domain names extensions, .com being the most common. Take for example www.yoursite.co.zw, .co.zw is the TLD (Top Level Domain) extension. If a domain extension isn’t available, try another one. For example, if www.yoursite.com is taken, then, consider www.yoursite.net, www.yoursite.online, www.yoursite.org among others, which might be available.1
How do I signup?
Place your order with purchase amount online to receive your custom invoice.2
How long does it take?
Once your payment has been received, your account with be created and credited with your purchase amount within 24 hours.3
How do I send messages?
You can send messages via our Web Interface, Desktop Client or integrate our API with your in-house software. Visit our Help Centre for detailed tutorials4
Can I topup my account?
Netcom Bulk SMS Services works on a prepaid basis. You can purchase credits by contacting our support department for existing clients or place an order for new clients.5
How long can my message be?
Maximum message length is 918 characters. However, if you send more than 160 characters (charged as 1 sms credit) then your message will be broken down in to chunks of 153 characters before being sent to the recipient's handset.6
Do my SMS credits expire?
SMS credits are valid for 30 days from date of purchase. This means that your SMS credits will be available in your account for that period.7
Can I see message reports?
Yes, you can see these in the 'Reports' section. Login to your web portal to generate reports of sent messages.8
Does Netcom add text to my messages?
Netcom doesn’t add any text in your message of any kind.9
Alphanumeric Sender IDs
Alphanumeric sender IDs (CompanyName) should be 11 characters maximum, the global standard.10
2 Way SMS
To receive messages to your phone, you would need to set the Sender ID as a phone number to enable replies.11
Number Databases
We do not provide number databases. Netcom offers the platform for you to send numbers to your clients.12
How do I check my sms credit balance?
Credit balance can be seen from your control panel after you login to your account.13
Can I schedule messages?
Yes you can Schedule your SMS messages to be sent at a later date and time for up to one year in the future.14
